"The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus" John 13:2.
Many people who have experienced a friend betray them in the worst way possible, often ask themselves why. Why would their very best friend steal from them, lie on or to them, sleep with their significan other? We often scratch our heads and question ourselves about what we could have done to prevent the betrayal or how could we be so blind. After being betrayed by family members and so called friends I often wondered if I had the mark of "Stupid" or "Gullible" stamped on my forehead.
If Jesus Christ was betrayed by one of his own disciples for monetary gain why do you think the same wouldnt't happen to you? Greed, jealousy, and coveting are Satan's way of tearing relationships apart. The spirit of Judas Iscariot is still roaming around earth inhabiting the bodies of loved ones tearing families apart.
Whether your best home girl slept with your husband or your best brother from another mother set you up to be robbed because he wanted a piece of the lavish life you were living, it all comes from the same demonic spirit. When the truth comes to light so many of us are ready to put revenge in motion, however we feel guilty once revenge has taken place. Why?
I've asked myself this question plenty of times. Why do we feel convicted when we pay back what was given to us? Why must we forgive? I had to thoroughly research the point of forgiveness and does it give people a pass to hurt us again.
That is what my next blog topic is about tomorrow.
